Chain catcher with more reach

Hi guys, I want to install a chain catcher on my middrive e bike. I tried using a dog fang chain catch but the problem is the little plastic catch wouldn't "reach" far enough to be effective. There was still a lot of gap between the crankset and the bike frame so the chain would slip right through making it completely useless. Is there anything that would reach further and prevent my chain from getting jammed?

You're just going to have to McGuyver something or put some pictures up so we can see what you are working with. Do you have a single chainring? Move the pants guard from the outside to the inside? Or use pants guards on both sides of the chainring and trap the chain inbetween them? Or just put a front derailleur on with the limit screws set so it doesn't move. Or fill up the space that the too short chain catcher doesn't fill. With what? Hmm JB Weld? Bondo?
