Hi folks,

Bit of a newbie to the whole e-bike world but I converted my bike with a BBS02 motor a few months back and have been loving life since.

That is until today, when something on my beauty broke on the way home from work. I heard something break as I put my weight on one of the pedals to set off from traffic lights, and now the pedals don't move the bike wheels at all - they turn with no resistance at all, as if it would if your chain fell off.

It looks as though something between the crank and pedals has broken. Does any kind soul here have a suspicion what the problem could be or a starting place for me to begin investigating? Really appreciate any and all advice!

Cheers,

J

Just to clarify / add a little more detail (please let me know if I'm missing helpful speciifcs), turning the pedals even with the motor switched off does not rotate / move the chainring at all. The throttle still appears to work just fine.

Seems like a defect if it happened after a couple of months (so maybe under warranty?).

If you've never taken the unit apart to grease it or do other service, now is the time. I'm guessing you have sticky, broken, or dislocated pawls in the pedal ratchet. It's not terribly hard to get in there and have a look, and replace anything that needs it.

Go to Luna's website and follow the links to various teardown and repair tutorials.
