Bafang BBS02 only drives with thumb throttle

I have a Bafang BBS02 mid-engine that only drives with thumb throttle, there is no error message on the display either. The brake sensors also work, has anyone had a problem like this before and have an idea of ​​how to fix it.

Did the system ever work correctly?

If so, what happened just before it stopped operating correctly?

If not, was it purchased used, already on a bike, or was it purchased new and isntalled on your own bike?

If the former, was it working for the previous owner, or already known to have a problem; and if so did they have any information on events that might have led to the problem?

If the latter, have you gone thru any of the menus to change any settings? Or verified the connections on the PAS sensors? Do you happen to know what version of firmware it uses (some people know the firmware versions well enough to say if any of them might have a known issue with a known fix).
