Apart from the Lekkie Bling Ring, are there any other manufacturers who make custom chain rings for the Bafang BBS02, with an improved offset for better chain line?

Sweet thanks dusan :D

How many more mm's would you say it's further in, than the stock Bafang 48T?

I guess around 2-3mm
Lekkie has similar design with 3.5

Useful info. I make adapters also via laser, but if offset is an issue for you I might consider making deeper ones.

I believe italians are renowned for their machining skills. I think the prices for those chainwheels is fair considering the low production numbers and the material cost. I CNC mill aluminium myself.

Anybody knows whether both have the same offset, so the 36t also 4mm more inwards compared to stock ring?

Drop them an e-mail. They were pretty quick to reply and had a good command of english when I asked them a question.

I am probably going to be getting a BBs02 in the very near future, and this thread raises some questions for me.
First of all, when you say "improved offset," what is it about the offset you are trying to improve?

It is my understanding that the BBS02 has a chainline of 50mm's based on the tech specs in the manual. As it happens this is exactly what I need for my Nuvinci. What are people looking for: a narrower chainline like 45mm's a wider one? Or is the 50mm published spec off, and the actual chainline is wider/narrower than spec?

In your case the stock ring is fine as you don't have a deraillerur. The offset on mine is actually closer to 52 mm, and I have a nice and centered 68mm bottom bracket. :) On a MTB the ideal chainline is 47,5 mm. On my CX the ideal chainline is 43,5.

Thanks for replying. I'm a little concerned that the chainline is so far out of spec at 52mm. On this system since the chainwheel mounts to the reduction gear it would seem much less variable. I guess i won't know until I have it installed, but i have no room in the back to move the chainline. I usually try to get my front and rear chainline within 1mm or less. So my window would be 49-51mm.

In truth a derailleur system has a lot more latitude with chainline than a single gear system. Derailleur chains are more forgiving about off lines, and the derailleur has a guide pulley that keeps the chainline as it enters the final drive.

Answer is that chainline is 2mm worse/wider than stock. Which makes sense considering 36/38 can't wrap around the motor.

They appear to be the same design. Thanks for 36T find! My fat bike needs it

I wonder what the chain line would be for the 36T piggy backed on the 42T offset. Should not require an adapter. No worse than a regular 36T with an adapter?

I would need chaing ring with improved off-set and I seems that this site no longer works ? (I cannot register there) :

any other ideas where to get 42t chain ring with better offset for BBS01B ?

I have the Luna Cycles eclipse chainring. It has a nice offset and they also sell spacers for it so you can customize it. I switched from a standard 11-36 9 speed cassette to the nuvinci n380 and with the Luna Cycles chainring, the chain line is dead straight. I also swapped out the cassette on my trike to a rohlhoff hub and it's my reccomend action that an internally geared hub be used with a mid drive motor. It will completely eliminate any chain line and shifting issues. You will find that your e-bike rides and shifts infinitely better in every way. The only setup I have had that worked with a rear cassette is my BionX dv500 rear hub motor. Mid drives and cassette/derailure setups, in my experience, just don't play well together, especially with recumbents
