How to remove crank arm off BBS02?

I am trying to remove just the crank arms off my BBS02 bike. I removed the single bolt holding it in place. I tried to jiggle the crank arm out but it does not move. Should I try to hit it with a rubber mallet to see if it will move? I dont want to damage the unit.

You need a crank arm puller, you wont be able to remove it easily without one.
