Hello

Since there is not so much info about the e-novation mid drive motor (used in Prophete bikes and ALDI in EU) I will try to post all info available to me.
I have only two bare motors, no display and no other accessories.

What I like is the all metal gears and the completely sealed final gear.

what I am missing is the pin out of the cables:
11 wire cable - help please
2 wire white connector - speed sensor
2 wire black connector -

what I need is:
display wiring diagram
throttle wiring diagram

to do:
RX/TX identifying and reading the settings with BBS01 software

Motor type is "TranzX M15 Mittelmotor"

More pictures and wiring

Still to identify the:

Throttle wiring
Display communication

Looking for help identifying the controller manufacturer, programming pinouts. The software is LogiX Setup V2.0.12.1203.exe (I have it  )

LVC is 42.5V and is not affected by the VOL setings in secret menu (24,36,48)
Cap is rated to 63V, may change it to 100V

Sorry, no idea on that, but it looks like a promising kit!

Just put one of the 3 units I have on test bike

display settings in hidden menu:
tyre: 16in
Volt 48V (no visible effect at all)
Sup 15
max speed 45

Test trip on almost flat area 5km one direction, total 10km both ways

LCD setting on 5 Boost
BB 42T, rear 11T

Trip time 22,5 minutes
Speed max 35 km/h
Speed avg 26.8 km/h
Current max 13.56 A (during start acceleration on 42T-11T)
Power peak 641W
Battery 12S 5.8 Ah LiPo (test only)
Vmin 41.5 V
used 86.6 Wh
8.62 Wh/km
0.192 Ah/km

Up to 30km/h the motor is pushing, then just drops the current, probable not due to LCD limitation (showing 19 km/h due to 16'' tire "fake" setting) but due to cadance speed, which is measured by the hall sensors inside the motor.

To do: identify the I2C connections and connect the software
Goal: 45km/h

One motor will have surgery and brain replacement with VESC .... waiting for VESC

E3 Dash is using similar motor, maybe model M16, see the same TranzX green label

The only 48V motors are from

http://www.prophete.de/produkte/fahrrader/e-bikes/bergsteiger-6-9/
image hosting over 10mb

Finally I removed the controller from one of the motors.

Impresive quality, and absolutely no information on internet. It has 6 mosfets, rated at 80V

Manufacturer is: hhttp://en.santroll.com/Home/Index/product/id/35/subid/39.html soon to see how their tech department will respond

an luckily out of more than 10 ESC tested, one is working very good

unfortunately do not know the model

Speed calculation based on current gearing with ESC:

motor - 2.55KV

58 V - 148 rpm - 71 km/h
52 V - 133 rpm - 64 km/h

42 V - 107 rpm - 52 km/h
40 V - 102 rpm - 49 km/h

at this max speeds, cadence is a little high, but not necessarily needed :D

And finally the motor internals,

Rotor diameter 60mm, height 22mm, 10 magnets
Stator wire 0.9mm, 3 Hall at 120', thermistor between the stator and motor housing.

How much power it can handle? any hints

pinout of small connector:

red +5V
black 0
yellow HALL
green HALL
blue HALL
orange thermistor
white thermistor

:D Motor tested with VESC and throttle at 48V produces cadance speed of 110 RPM :D in sensor less mode
just bench test

255Kv motor?

Ive read 195Kv motors (MAX) for 12s battery ..
- I guess you did the bench test..

Electrical RPM limit is around 100k

All the motor KV mentioned above are after the motor internal gears, at the crank.

just did load test at 48V with VESC and trainer with hydraulic brake

max power 700W - limited by gearing and brake
cadance at 700W - 95RPM at crank

after 2 Ah used the motor was 50deg C, hydraulic brake 110 degC  test was abandoned

Need help to identify the mosfets from the pictures above. Fake or not?

Double pcb VESC prepared for the motor

since the single PCB VESC is few mm bigger than the available place inside the motor, I managed to put in in Hammond AlMg enclosure

short test was logged
48V 10Ah 52T-11T on 26''

speed went to 50km/h on a short stretch part of the road
temperature went to 75 deg. Celsius, not sure how will handle regular hill climbs.

Hi

Is it possible to install a throttle on this unit. I have a Hansa e novation e bike and I would like to add a throttle on it since pedal assist is not enough to climb some steep hill. My knees hurt :(

Even in the lowest gears?

Sounds like you need to change the front chainring to a smaller one, or change the rear freewheel cluster to one with larger (lower) gears.

Adding a throttle to the system probably won't get you more power out of it than the PAS would, and if the motor isn't already able to help enough to relieve your knee pain then that means you're providing so much of the hill-climbing power that if you weren't doing that and using throttle instead (or mostly) the motor would probably overheat, or simply have too little power to climb the hill at all.

According to the controller manufacturer if this motor - NO

If you need more assist from the motor, change SUP parameter from secret menu to 15.

With external controller and also with the original one, the motor is maxing app.700W at 48W . If you need more torque just select proper gearing.

Hi,
so you have successfully used LogiX Setup software to configure your Santroll controller, please may you send me the executable file?
I have a Santroll controller and I can't find a configuration tool.

Thanks

Could you please send in the link for the TranzX configuration software? I couldn't find it anymore at the website I downloaded it earlier from.
