Hi,

I think this should be in its own thread for future reference:

i was hoping that we would have a thread for the 110's parameters and software guide, hopefully it will pop up soon

Basically you set it for "Airplane, fixed endpoint, low timing"

There is supposedly built in current limiting. But, that is a crock. Also, it is not adjustable.

You will need to set the low voltage cutoff also. I always set mine at a low cutoff so I do not have to worry about it cutting out.

Ahh, you need the USB link with software. It is cheap and easy to use.

It can be programmed with the throttle, also. But that is a pain.

I ended up programming it with the throttle. Even though "it's a pain", it only needs to be set once and I don't believe the extra $25 for the USB software is worth it.

But the only thing I changed was disabling the brake.

The software is free, and it allows you to change more parameters, but for what we need, I think the throttle set mode can be used. I'll have to go look at some of the other settings, to see if any of them apply, like changing the PWM rate and/or the timing, both of which are usually motor-type dependent.

Here's a link to the Castle Link USB cable/convertor: http://www.castlecreations.com/products/castle_link.html As I said in the other thread, it is not only used to program the various settings, it is also used to download/install new software revisions for the controllers. CC is usually very good about doing a couple revisions a year, usually adding features, etc. I see in the latest version, described here, they added some new motor start refinements that will make it smoother for outrunners, and other high-pole count motors like the AFs, to start up very slowly. Perfect for what we need. :)

The latest user manual is here: http://www.castlecreations.com/support/documents/Phoenix_User_Guide.pdf

I'll have a look at the complete settings, to see what "tweaks" might be good, but I'll have to wait until I connect one of the widgets up to a controller before I can even call up the settings page. The software pretty much doesn't let you do anything without a controller hooked up.

SHV I don't have a clue on...not sure what is going on with it right now...it's on hold.

Guys,

I've got a new HV 110 in the mail next week, and just bought 2 packs of Yardworks LiMn. From what I can tell from the posts around here, the BMS is pretty ill-regarded, and as such I have no plans to draw from these batteries with it in the circuit. I will be using it for on-board charging, but nevermind that.

My question is, can I set up the HV 110 to auto-cutoff at a safe voltage for these cells? I know it can be set up for cell counts, but this is for LiPo, correct? My understanding of LiMn is that they're damaged below 3 volts. So, can I set up a 30V cut off via the Castle Link? I wish I had the thing in front of me!
