Been busy working, so taking the time to make a build log so anyone interested can learn from my mistakes!

First off, if you plan on doing Uber Eats, your potential success is very much in the hands of fate meaning first off, you are NOT going to make any money unless there are deliveries to be made, you can and will be at the mercy of fickle habits of those making the orders, broken or inadequate support from CSR's that either cannot or will not support you enough to make it worth the time.

If you come into the job more with the attitude "wow, I already ride anyway, now I can get PAID to ride? SWEET!" VS paying the bills, you're probably kidding yourself that this will be anything more than a nice part-time side job that can be fun and give you good exercise.

This is my second version of the delivery bike, but since the first one (Vision R-40 Recumbent) was fraught with too many difficulties and compromises, I will just skip to the better version, the E-Zilla reborn as E-Delivery Cruiser!

So far what I have used is:
Micargi Bronco 3.0 Stretched Cruiser https://www.bikeberry.com/26-micargi-bronco-3-0.html?keyword=&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoJrfBRC0ARIsANqkS_6Q_hFeNmjLtV0IkU8lZpXXw1HmJGP1uVaAQttVvb_T5o4vseMyuy0aAi_6EALw_wcB (surprisingly decent steel frame, no idea about this seller, just first thing to pop up on google search)

BBSHD (W/ Hot Rod Settings from Lunacycle) https://lunacycle.com/bafang-bbshd-1000w-middrive-kit/

52V 28AH 18650 LARGE triangle battery pack by EM3EV https://em3ev.com/shop/50v-14s9p-large-triangle-pack/?currency=USD

Custom built Fixed Gear wheel-set by Sugar Wheel Works in Portland OR https://surlybikes.com/parts/wheels/hubs (If I had it to do again, I would look for a hub that would accept normal threaded 3/8" axles, not that these are bad, but options for using spacers and such are very limited)

FWIW, the title could be misread... Uber eats delivery ebike build. Was crunchy and full of minerals.

Looking forward to pics and stuff of the build before it gets digested. :)

My brother takes Uber to places, or uses Uber Eats to get things, a fair bit, and has problems about every other time (or more often) with one thing or another, some of them serious, and none of them resolvable in any way at all, absolutely no help from Uber at all, ever. Same thing with Lyft. (Amazon *sometimes* resolves problems, but not usually).

Despite that, I've considered trying out doing UE deliveries, but last time I checked they only did them by car here in Phoenix, and it required a late model in great condition with specific insurance coverage, etc. Haven't rechecked since then.

But I'm setup to do it nicely if I could:

That sounds more like what I'd be after, except for the exercise part. ;)

I'm doing deliveroo in the netherlands right now. Same basic deal. A killer is how long it takes to kill the motor, the lights, lock it up, then reverse the process after getting an order.

A serious kickstand is important too.
