I pick motor for the time. If I no happy with cyclone 3000watt I could try a cyclone 4800 watt. Motor

It the same for my motor mounting that not stock. For this frame

In get the rest if it cut out in a cnc To fit just right hope in a week to start fit it.

First MOD it will be fan cool from inside .

I paint it today to stop water rust it..

What a mess I try to use a 3 year old paint can..

I end haveing to open can it and use my compress and paint gun..

I will be using a big vesc in 12s it all I have and a 150amp.. My old vesc I never got to use it was watetcooled I get the new release rev 3.0 big vesc
I use car jump leads. Has my power calbe W1 size big has big has my finger itS cheap way I found.

Alloy and copper clad wire.. Real copper wight to much

Any helpful tips for gearing I will happily take

I plan only use a 1 gear Stuck to add like max38 teeth for rearwheel instock mtb chianring
Unless I a go cart I could use 50 teeth for rearwheel

It a full on downhill ebike.. And rode that way

Speed is not needed. Super moster forks

So it a 10" sup when loaded more update soon

I think you will burn it quite fast if you use 120a more than 2-3 seconds. If you want power you must use 20s and lower amps. Then have a bigger reduction. You can get 46,48,50t cassettes for any system on ali.

Hi i did Not paint Motor core magnets . I trying to shed more heat. This paint for the motor wires.
It good to only 100c.

I can See it must have some iron in it In the paint .

I try to stop rust on the motor from inside.

In Au we all live close to the sea.. . So thingS rust fast

If paint with Matt black inside motor.

You shed 1c to 6c more

That fan mod effective at cooling the whole motor well? Did you have the STL/3D printer file for it? I love to try mod on my bike.

I have a 3Kw Cyclone 52v lion pack on a 120amp kelly controller limited to 60amps. It consistently getting near 60c on motor casing. I haven't put a temp prob on the windings yet. Thinking putting a water proof computer fan or something on it. Going fast up steep hills over heats like crazy on a hot day. I kinda wish I got a 4kw cyclone instead.

Next MOD I will oil cool this motor like it bother mini cyclone. But it will not has ez. I will Need to add a oil sealS

My motor mounts need heat up in oven to make them fit just right...

I MOD output shaft and change bearings to ceramic.. One will go from 12mm to 8 mm

To get space I need to use 2 chain

Add 219 chianrings. And chian To rear now can fix a 87teeth steel . Lucky I now using a 3" tire. Give room I need for chianring rear
The frame dam cool. 20mm axle plus sideing dropouts

Need a custom 219 sockets made

What username on here? Great Es Can't find. I have a buddy that has a nice 3D printer I could make a bunch for people that want them. Oil cooled motor sounds even better, post results sure lot people would be interested.

When push 3kw cyclone 50+ volts @ 40+ amps contentiously under a load it will over heat for sure without any active cooling. Don't think they are a contentious duty motor. I have a large pack 1.8 kWh on my bike. And go for long rides, after 20mins of riding even cool day and then go up a steep hill it will shoot up to 70+ C temps. I have to down shift and let off on throttle to cool. Sometimes stop and let it rest.

Not sure what max temperature should be running at guessing 80 -90 C A guy that makes cyclone kits said the casing and windings can be 20-30c temp difference. My next step is put temp prob onto windings with the thermal glue. To get more accurate temperatures.

Gearing on your bike sounds really elaborate can't wait see completed bike.
 
Hi all got a bit done today..

MOD the 219# chain ring to fit back wheel

I had clean up my whole place to find 1 bolt.

To give me room to bigger chianrings For chain glide I guess I fit 95 teeth ring now..
MOD the out put shalf . I got back 7.5mm its now shorter.

I no Idear how my gearing will go 15km Or 60km

I never use a cyclone 3000watt before. This one band new before I cut it up. Just hope it's works
I will update this post later for pics

Work out how add seal to add oil to gearbox. And likely add a pump to cool it.


Just need a oil that cheap and good at take heat away.

Are you hooking the motor to the output of the gearbox? IE: leg power gets gears and motor is a single speed but both drive the rear chain?
 
Hi all yes I plan add the cyclone motor to the out put shaft of the gti gearbox .
Just hope I don't get kill my outputshalf in Gti gearbox. From stress from motor
It will 1 chain for both leg and motor

I was hoping you'd do that with such a cool frame.
What total reduction are you planning for the motor? 219 for the entire left side? I assume a freewheel for the motor on the left and the legs on the right?

Mean I have real brakes. No oil to kill brake pads

Has for math for 219# Gear ratio I have no idea

I just try what I have. Right now back wheel is 81 teeth. I counted right.

It could be too big. Has cyclone has a 1.6 gearbox.
Big vesc only use 12s lipo

If too slow I use deta. Mode to speed up cyclone....

81 will be waaaaaay too big if using the cyclone gearbox.
I'd use the standard gearing from when it was a bicycle (looks ~1:1), then gear the cyclone about 2:1 to that. Gives 12:1 total for the motor.
Probably won't be fast on 12s though. I'm running a total reduction of 13.75:1 in first gear and it's really not all that fast on 18s.

I have runing gearing now.

I had mistake my 😱 sockets 219#

I was told it h25# from Mini bikes


In any case the my big chianring 25# like the size of a 40teeth Stranded chain ring.

My driver one it #25 65teeth. BIggers I can fit ...

Size like a 32 t stranded chianring
 
Is the chain from the rear wheel always turning or is there a freewheel/freehub at the back?

25H may not be string enough, time will tell.

What are your sprocket sizes? Can you pedal it effectively with those gears?
 
Hi all the rear hub is fixed.. No freewheel

I have a working gearing I added rollers gluids I have no idea how it will pedal.
65t #25 chianring is like in size a32 t stranded chain ring

22t Stranded pitch
65t #25 driving ring

I had use half link chain not greatest for power.

I can"t real add A gluid to motor chain. From the forces.

So chain be right from start.

Hi all Change a few things.

New forks from monsters t forks to super monsters t. Look like it be a good padeling ebike

New oil and seals I. E over 10years old.. Seals

Mixed 1998 and 2003 fork crown. Don't know how it works.. It never meant to use this way.
Add 15wight oil

Need a new shock sping from 400pound I guess I need 650 pound sping were do I find 650x3.25?

Same gears in the 4kw and failure are uncommon. Some people running 6kw through them.

My experience is that the motor will get hot long before you wear gears.
