Looking for a 60+ amp quality inexpensive motor controller, what happened to them?

My old controller was a cheap crappy 40 amp controller that I had shunt modded to draw 55 battery amps. It bit the dust a few days ago. I want to upgrade to something that's of higher quality but has atleast the same level of acceleration and power. Smoothness or extra features don't matter much to me. I've been searching everywhere but I can't find anything comparable that's under $200, or preferably $150. What happened to the Infineon controllers or the controllers on the EM3EV site? Even the model of my old controller seems to be out of stock. I was considering a Kelly controller but I heard they measure current in phase amps, so to get equivalent performance out of their controllers I would have to spend over $200. Any suggestions? Maybe I'm not looking for controllers in the right places, can someone point me in the right direction? Edit: I'd prefer them to be programmable but not a necessity

That is an 18 fet Infineon board. It isn’t at its best for that price, but it is the base to upgrade easily.

I see, only thing that worries me is it's rated at only 30 amps continuous, my old controller used to do 55 continuous, so I'm thinking I would see a power decrease. I guess I could shunt mod again but I would prefer not to.

What happened to them? Some of them blew up. Will yours?

Yeah for some reason I feel like they were easier to find a couple years ago. That controller is rated for 80 amps but I don't see if it says continuous or peak, or phase amps or battery amps. I'll probably have to take a gamble on one of these.

That's what cheap is. But if it only gives a peak think half of that is continuous. Much like with those speakers when I was in college working for a staging company. The amplifiers were "nominal," continuous, the speakers were peak, so we wanted to match them accordingly. And there were still had stereo stores with employees determined to ignorantly match up the nominal and peak as though they were the same, obnoxious to us working professionals who tried to explain it to them, continuing to set people up to blow out those speakers. . . .

That link is in some kind of incomprehensible ridiculeuse language.

"Ridiculeuse" is like Portuguese? Looks more like Romansch to me. (A lot of people say "Romance.") As in France, Romania, Italy. All over. Alibaba is seriously flipping over that way lately.

Just get a sabvoton and program it down to 60 amps. Get the bluetooth programming adapter.

I suppose because it's a 24 fet controller, worst case I should be able to shunt mod it without losing much reliability to match my old 12 fet controller, right? Haha, I feel your frustration with the amplifiers. I've bought amps rated for peak power mistaking it for RMS and then get disappointed when I try the equipment. :D

Unfortunately, that's more than I want to spend on a controller considering my old one was $50 :(

you get what you pay for.

Another principle is you pay for what you want, rather than a lot more than what you want.

Considering how quickly a controller, cheap or expensive, can go “poof”, I think it’s folly to pay very much for one.
