Are there any brands that have in stock full suspension emtb in size x-small? Especially if i have a shot of finding it at an LBS here in San Diego?

I suppose I should add that if nothing is in stock, even just a good brand/bike recommendation would be great. Most the bikes I look at don't even make an x-small.

It is the tall riders who have a hard time finding a suitable bike. Most FS frames are small for the marked size. I believe a small would fit you. Still, any bike does need size tuning if you want it perfect. This can be done with adjustments alone, but sometimes some parts need to be replaced when the rider has strict requirements. Crank levers and handlebar/stem are the parts that are replaced most often. Sometimes we need to cut the handlebar and seat post, or choose a different saddle. Your cockpit can be tuned with a pretty wide range of adjustment, on MTB styles of bikes especially, enough to make the wheelbase a matter of preference rather than a bike size requirement. I can tune for myself from M to XL comfortably, and my preference for longer frames is about stability, not size.

Go to the majors websites and check out their offerings because any LBS can order your bike from the manufacturer and they could do a proper fitting and measure you for bicycle geometries measurements.
Problem is if they order it you cant return it.

Chances are, you need to convert a bike, vs buy one ready to ride, to get your size.

Look in womens bikes for starters. Not step throughs pe se, but they will be in smaller sizes in 3 thousand dollar FS bikes.

But the cheap ass bike sized objects in a walmart are invariably small size. At 5-11, I always had to make extra long seat posts for that type bike.

NOT saying buy one. Saying you can try out a smaller size there and get some ideas if you can handle it on a bike that size. Your LBO may only have larger mens sizes in stock for you to test the fit. This can give you some idea of the distance from crank center to top of seat post, or ground to top of frame where it meets the seat post that you are looking for.
