Hello all.

I am looking at starting to build my battery pack. I will be using VTC6 Sony cells, 22s12p to give a total of 360 battery amps, so 264 cells in total...

Now, the Qulbix 140 frame has a battery compartment which fits a MAXIMUM battery size which is:
Length:Width:Height = 320mm : 140 mm : 220 mm

It seems the only way I can fit this would be to lay the 18650 cells horizontally (flat) and have 2 x 11s12p packs stacked vertically side by side.

If I choose this option, each 18650 cell is 65 mm in height, so two cells would be 130 mm. If I put these into the frame, I will only have 10 mm to fit the nickel strips, copper busbars, heat shrink covering, and battery enclosure... I am worried this may not be enough space.

Any advice on whether or not this could work, is there an alternative that I am missing??

I have attached the dimensions for the battery compartment for your reference.

Are all 18650 batteries the same length? For example, if there was one that is slightly shorter, it would give me more space.

Another option would be to use 21700 cells and build 2 x 6s10p and 2 x 5s10p all connected together and stacked flat side by side.

Thoughts?
