I've got a decent solar install on my camper (14Kwh of battery soon, 1200w in panels probably adding a few more later)
Main pack is 24v.
I'm picking up a 72v ebike to drag along with the camper this year.

Any suggestions for DC-DC chargers?
Or should I just stick with the AC-DC charger - I have a 3000VA inverter and it won't really be much loss.

Cheers.

72 Volts (nominal) so that would be 20S LiCo2 with a charge voltage of 84 volts (guessing here).
Point is that you are going to have to boost the voltage from your main energy source either way.
My guess is it is going to be six for one and half a dozen for the other except the DC-DC route is going to be harder to source.

Vicor, but requires DIY electronics skillz.

If checking out cheap Chinese stuff, you should not expect anywhere near the advertised current rate

even with added heatsinking / fans etc

and buy lots of them, for spares.

The inverter is probably not just cheaper but lots easier

but losses will indeed be greater than a good DCDC.
