So I have 2 types of xt60, with and without cable covers from aliexpress, the seller told me they're not fake but who knows maybe it's an "upgraded" material  ..
This guy in the video says that the older ones he got are way more heat resistant to the extent that he can keep the iron on the metal part for as long as he want without the plastic case getting melted..

thanks

Those from Hobbyking are genuine, the XT90 that I have purchased at least. But still, I don’t like them. I prefer the big gold bullets to assemble lipo bricks, and big Andersons for power and phase connections.

What size of bullet connectors & PP do you use?

Even if they are counterfeits made from cheaper materials...if you melted them, I'd get thicker cables to act as a heat-sink, and a larger connector set, like the XT90's.

The smallest I ever use are 5.5mm gold bullets to assemble lipo bricks, and PP75 Andersons for power and phase connections. I use bigger on some bikes.

i solder with the male/female connected to each other and the pins stay put til it cools down
I knowc about this method and applied it successfully, but connectors that melt so easily shouldn't be used and produced

get AMass one from amazon

ebay ALL fakes.
amazon defitely sells lower grade/fake xt60, read the 1 star reviews (and even some 5 stars), people claim they melt while soldering
