The 20' fat tire folders aren't that nice with a motor in my opinion. Still they are very popular with boomers that haven't ridden a bike in 20-30 years. Why not, they are comfy. and easy to get on/off if you get a step thru. There's just not much feeling of a bike. I bought one, thinking it would be like my 20" folder, only with wider tires, but it's 25 pounds heavier, and almost a foot longer.
At $899 for the Lectric XP, even if they sold bare frames, I bet you couldn't find a 48V10AH battery and motor and compete in the build vs buy competition. My Ecotic was only $769. although it's only 36V and had a crappy 3 speed PAS.
Unlike Neptronix, I find standard 20" folders and 20" minivellos a lot of fun. They are darty, as short wheelbase bikes will be. I ride them fairly slow, so they don't feel flimsy to me. Then again, when your steerer is 2 feet long, it needs a good design to keep the flexing down. Ditto for seat tubes that extend to the sky.
