I want to swap out the included 7 speed cassette for a single speed, but the one I have hasn't got a big enough hole going through it to be able to fit over the axle, and from looking on Google they all basically look the same.

So what's my options?

Ebike specific or adapt the one I have?

is it a cassette or freewheel? if freewheel, i hear the DNP tool works well for hub motors but not sure of its availability in all areas

There are some that are big enough to go over an ebike axle or you can bore them out using a "pointy" grinding bit that fits in a drill motor. Don't try and use a drill bit as the tool is hardened.

If it's a freewheel (not a cassette): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FI8WWZY/ref=emc_b_5_t
  • Fits freewheels with 12-spline, 22.6mm tool fittings including Shimano, Sachs Aris, SunRace, DNP Epoch and other 5–10 speed freewheels
  • Features enlarged 15mm pass-thru hole to accommodate 14mm solid axles
  • Thin wall construction allows use without removal of cones and locknuts
  • One inch hexagonal base fits wrench, socket or bench vise
  • Heat treated alloy tool steel

Just drill out the one you got. If you have the drill, and the big bit. Otherwise the new tool with a bigger hole may be cheaper than buying tools.

ya put it in a vise and use a round file to enlarge the hole, way easier than drilling, harbor freight sells round files for like $2

I like my Parke FR1-3. Cheaper than buying a hardened bit? I dunno. Get it in three business days.

Yeah. Cheaper than a good step drill bit, $19.99 at Home Depot. Of course, you can destroy q $6 bit from ebay and it might last long enough. I think they are for plastic,

1 day shipping but $1.50 more on Amazon. (but the OP never clarified freewheel or cassette)

You'll waste time and tools modifying the standard remover, even if you succeed. It's not worth it. Buy the right remover; it's easy to find anymore.
