Hello all,

I've acquired a Rad Power Bikes RadWagon with I think is a non-functioning controller, I get an error 30 code. The display is kind of rough, so I thought I'd just replace that too. I need them to pair with the direct drive hub motor on the back on the radwagon.

They have a plug like this:

Any recommendations?

I found 1 on ebay:

Anything else?

Don't choose a controller based on the connector.

Being able to chop & change connectors is a 101-level basic skill.

i would look around. find a controller that can handle a display and functions that you want. don't just buy it and settle with it. make sure it has the functions/ programmability that you want. then go from there. the motor connection is just one aspect of the controller. need to check the brake cutoff lines, throttle connection, ect. either all needs to match or your going to have to hack the connections to make them work. a pic of the controller would help a bit. :bigthumb:

That's a high current motor connector because you have a high current motor. It's already got the washers and nuts on the cable?

If it will fit into the space for the old RAD controller, I think there is nothing wrong with that 50A KT controller that you linked. You will need a KT display for it, and probably an IT4 cable.

That controller amperage output should be fine, the upgrade for the rad bikes is 35a. I get that I would need the 1t4 cable.

So, since I need a new controller I could buy a rad controller for 100$ or I could get this higher amp controller, the wiring harness and display for a little more than a new controller would cost from rad, plus I’d get a little boost.

The 35amp controller + display that would use my existing wiring harness would be around 230$.

Also, I’d like a clean install where I don’t need to cut/splice the connector on. That controller I linked to has the stuff I need, PAS, brake cutoffs, throttle, that are all the round waterproof connectors. I’m just kind of surprised I was basically only able to find that one.

I found this while looking for a fix for an orphaned Radwagon wheel:
