Hi I need a new 36v pack and was wondering where the preferred place to purchase is. Non triangle I am wondering if there is a preferred placed between or supporting forum members. I am not opposed to building like I am sure many of you do but Its going to a remote location and I have no build tools there. 10-20Ah rectangle no case. Thanks for any advice!

Ping battery has a good reputation around here for LiFePo4.

No need for a pre-built pack, just get 12 good prismatic cells at the right size and source a good BMS.

See if you can get 20Ah size from Eve

Interesting product, but seems ill suited for bicycles, unless I'm missing something. The cells they advertise are 3.2V. Hook 12 of them up to get 38V, you have quite a nice battery - that weighs over 20 lbs. If that's how it is with this kind of cell, the average cyclist is likely to be happier with 26650 cells.

(I'm guessing on the weight - the smallest advertised is 50AH, and it isn't really proportionately lighter than the 80AH, 1.4 vs. 1.68 kg, so 0.8 kg is probably low.)

Pingbattery lifepo4 still a pretty good product. Heavy and bulky, but least likely to burn your garage compared to lipo.

I was charged "Li" freight on the last battery from Ping, but they sent it with some other designation through normal mail cycle. Just beware.

That is all Ping's legal liability, no risk to the buyer other than a delay.

LFP should not be tarred with the same brush as li-ion afaic.

Since you want rectangular anyway, look for prismatics in the size you want, there are hundreds of suppliers to choose from.

I just gave Eve as a starting point as their quality having been reco'd by people I trust, and that seller seems keen to establish more trust among forum members.

Top notch makers like Winston, CALB, GBS, Sinopoly, CATL would be even better, but I have not come across sizes as small as 20Ah there, and a trustworthy supply chain to consumers is thin on the ground on most continents.

Going to the small cylindricals will result in lower overall energy density, and A123 (now Lithium Werks) is the only cell maker I would recommend there.
