E-Bike Throttle, any suggestions for a good, cheap one?

I bought this same kind of thumb throttle and it lasted a few years, thats all they seem to last for.

The throttle prior to that got a bit of moisture/rain into the wiring/connector/throttle housing and turned it into an on/off situation like the situation below.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/583410607.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.16.1a006bf3q2ejfc&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21USD%21US%20%244.38%21US%20%244.38%21%21%21%21%21%402100bdec16527272066546336ed73e%21%21sh

The one I am replacing it with, is the exact same and will fail the same way, I stole the new throttle from my e200 scooter and it looks to me as its on its way to fail in 8 months or so. I refuse to pay $20-25 to buy local, prefer to pay $10 to have delivered, but who knows of the wait time these days, its pretty random.

Yesterday, the green (sense) wire broke behind the throttle housing.
I clued in as the white throttle wires were supply juice for the 1 minute I troubleshot it.
An easy snip of the 3 wires, and the throttle is either on or off, either touch the green sense wire to the red +5v and 30 miles later get home.

That green sense wire broke off only because the wire exiting the throttle was in the way of changing rear gear to the position in which I like that throttle. I could have routed the throttle wire differently but I am lazy plus the throttle had short leads, again due to laziness.

I will learn one day, to not half ass every single thing with this ebike hobby.

I will buy 2 as posted, 2 old school with the wire plastic housing jetting off to the side, will get 1 half twist, 1 full twist and see if I like those (I doubt I will).

Magura style I will have to look into but its to expensive.

COT, cable-operated throttle, less than $8 on aliexpress for one; use whatever kind of cable-pulling mechanism you want on the handlebars to operate it with.

I used to break the plastic crap all the time because I would hit a bump as I was holding it near or at the full throttle while accelerating from a stop at intersections. Now i use COTs with a cheap metal ATV thumb throttle from amazon pulling the throttle one, and a brake lever pulling the regen/ebrake one.

My posts have links to the stuff in my trike thread and other threads where people have asked about throttles.

Same but new throttle, did the exact same thing. The wires broke just inside the throttles casing.
The first symptoms were unexplained wot's which was whenever I'd touch the wires exiting the throttle.

I fixed it on the road with a nice over view of the lake and sun shining with dark clouds off in the distance coming my way, only after going the route of always on or always off, touching the green and red wire.

I am going to buy from another supplier, hopefully I can find as cheap as a tenner delivered, 15 max, otherwise I just buy locally for 20.

Yep snapped my plastic thumb throttle in the mountains this weekend. I’m not ready to give up on my plastic thumb throttle yet as I like the function of it just need to be careful. will keep an extra with me from now on.

Not my style, see I'm a thumber ;)

I scored a freebie from the bike store, its a huge mofo'ing throttle with a big box on the top, thumb throttle underneath. I almost think the box thing is a cruise control, its a totally different throttle then I have ever had before and I am liking it a lot.
Its a Wuxing, guy said its been in the back for decades. I would say it almost looks like this,

but for mine the big boxy part is on top, and the throttle action is under the bar. The nice thing about mine is the wires exit over top the AIO shifting mechanism. Will see how long it will last, the wires are no where in the vacinity of anything, like the Universal throttle was, as I would always be touching it in various forms of rest while riding, if you catch my drift you know what I mean, anyone would know if they ride a lot.

I have opened up two of those new universal throttles, the hardest part is aligning the spring holes and snapping the cover back in, need a certain technique.

Someone should make a sintered metal throttle housing with a different reactionary spring, instead of it unwinding and winding up as apposed to compression, would be a different feel, you cant go wrong making it black, silver is too much flash unless its all matching.

metal thumb throttle with brake lever about 17 bucks

or metal just thumb about 10 bucks
https://www.amazon.com/Throttle-Accelerator-Control-Assembly-TaoTao/dp/B07FXNPCGS

they work great and are waterproof so far
put electronic part wherever you want and just run pull cable to it
you could even use a thumb-lever friction shifter to pull it
