Hi, just created an account on this forum to see if someone can answer my question.

I want to add a BBSHD to my bike but the bottom bracket seems to be too big for the motor I want to use measuring at 75mm when the max seems to be 73mm I am thinking about it all wrong im not sure. im using a normal tape measure so maybe im havent got the best accuracy.

https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/Orange/Crush-S,22027 this is the bike in question newer models seem to have a 73mm BB so it should be fine but I just want to make sure before pulling the trigger!

Thanks in advance

It is likely the BB is a standard width and it may be a measurement issue. I assume also it's a standard threaded BB shell in the frame.

Also, it is possible to use a BBSHD drive intended for wider shells and use spacers to make up the difference, though not sure you could go so far as to use a 100mm unit as that would be a bunch of space, and introduce offset that may not work well.
