Wouldn't some decent training wheels do the same thing cheaper and easier?

Just a quick post to express appreciation, sk8norcal, for the time you spend sweeping the net for wacky stuff and posting it here. Some of it is plain bizarre, but a lot of it gets my little grey cells buzzing with thoughts about things to build.

Thanks for taking the time to keep us posted on the "other side" of EVs.

I second that.
I think this 4 wheeled thing hasn't caught on because low speed vehicles are always legally classified as 4 wheels or under.
IE.. 4 wheels and it's a car, then it's subject to passenger car regulations.

Thanks Jeremy

I think it all started when I was studying ME at SJSU, (early 90's)
I saw our school's crazy looking HPV recumbent, front crank through the front wheel hub and hub center steering...
and later going to some ASME and IHPVA events, and seeing a bunch of wild designs...

thanks to the interweb and youtube, finding wacky stuff is so much easier these days...

spinningmagnets, i raise you one:

Eliica EV..

Hey, I've met that guy. His shop is in my town. The guy does beautiful work. He was one of the very first to make recumbent bikes. One of his race riders used to work for me. I kind of sponsored him.

I know that bike looks silly, but you should check out the rest of his website. His bikes have broken a lot of records.

yes, Lightning is famous in the recumbent world.
Their F-40 is one of the fastest "practical" recumbent/hpv design.
They held the RAAM team record I believe..
