I'm looking for a good fair deal
on a rear wheel geared brush-less
I would want "free-wheeling"
in a rim 20" or 26"
wheel and motor only
1,000 watt of course
I know I'd want a lynn controller
And would build my own battery set
I've never laced a wheel so I am afraid to get a motor only

Some place in the states

I buy from Electric Rider. They are located in Texas and have excellent customer service.

The G8 is a really strong geared hub motor.

The popular choice is the Mac 10T, from EM3ev. A big honking high power lyens controller will destroy the gearmotors though.

For 1000w, you don't need a lyens, but his mini monster is a nice one. Just get a mac kit from cellman, if you go the Mac route.

A Mac from EM3ev with matching controller would be the way to go. I agree with Dogman, Lyen's controllers are meant for high performance DD rigs, and would either destroy or be a total waste on a geared hub... Except that Mini monster.

No idea what brand the Electricrider geared hub really is. As for the other motors, Electricrider has famously been renaming Crystalyte hubs by their own standards since the days when they called the 408 The Roadrunner
The motors are actually better than the usual ebay crap, and do sell for more cash from the vendors who carry Crystalyte.

Could be a good deal, but the 7 t mac is awful fast. Ask Wineboy about the fast mac, he had one. I thought it was very sluggish. Too fast for 26" wheel.

Fine for 20 though.

Paul at EM3ev is a very trusted vendor with many ES endorsements. Sending the money to china is scary, but you won't get burned at EM3ev.

You are not far from the best E bike kit vendor worldwide, Grin Cyclery. Canada is still north American vendor.

I've been buying the Cutter/Mac motors from the guy on Ebay (rambus). Seems legit, And I think I'm getting a good value. Bought 3 that work as they should
