90v 22s esc and 80v battery will not run motor

correction...will not run motor properly. runs at idle speed only and when throttle is set the slow running moves from max to min throttle position. also cellcount is 4 beeps. shouldnt i hear 20 beeps? 90v flier brushless esc will not run revolt rv100 motor on 80v cobalt battery. motor runs fine on 24v battery and is rated 24-96v. should esc program be changed from lipo battery to life battery? I'm using a servo tester for throttle. thanks for help
