Is anyone working on a VESC power stage that uses sensefet tech? They're TO-247-4 package sicfets that have an "extra" small mosfet in them that runs at 500:1 current ratio to the large mosfet. This means you can use a small current sense resistor on the tiny mosfet for current and safety monitoring. They do really well with heat and are fast. The price is kind of high but this should eliminate a bunch of other components.
Couple this with an isolated gate driver like the ucc21732 or similar drivers and it should make for a safe, fast high powered drive.
Just curious what people are looking at for new tech coming out.
