without a magnet

without an esc to switch the polarity what is making it not lock up?

making an electromagnet with battery and a wire I understand but how is the motor spinning? why doesnt the field line up with the permanent magnet and get stuck, and how is the coil instead of the magnet enabling the motor to spin?

Only strips half the insulation on the wire so for half the revolution there no conductivity. That's all.

Neither of these motors has a switch or option to stop pressure on a pedal. If using a cycling analogy it seems to me more like u just pushed hard with one foot on a pedal and will be pushing that one foot till finally disconnect the battery.

The battery and coil make an electromagnet of one polarity and magnitude. How is something oscillating?

Was trying but failed. Timing as in On and then Off, something needs to interrupt the pull or power.
