Hi, Im in the planning phase of a new project and I am trying to decide what motor to choose. Im usin a bac8000 controller. With the qs 138 I was pushing 600 amp into it and I liked the power. I also have a prototype 75-5 motor which is 12 poles instead of 10 like the production motor. Im wondering which one would be faster. I believe the 75-5 would have more torque.

With the same battery voltage, controller, and current, and assuming neither motor is current/thermally-limited, then speed and torque are determined solely by motor constants. The motor with higher Kv will be faster, and conversely, the motor with higher Kt will have more torque.

Of course, if the QS138 was current-limited to 600A but you can push the full 840A peak into the 75-5, the of course the 75-5 will have more torque.
