Nanjing far driver controllers
Nanjing far driver controllers
These start to turn up here and there on the forum.
It seems like they were only available in China before, but now they seem to be available on more places.
Like qs motors:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002 ... 6062%23803
The specs look a little strange, max 110V on a 96V controller?
Is it really true, 1800pA on a relatively small controller?
Anyone with experience of these controllers?

I haven't seen them before but they look interesting; it would be awesome if someone cracked one of them open and did a teardown

We installed one on a friend's bike and it is really great. I would definitely install one on my motorbike if I had the money.

Is it kebekua on the forum you are talking about?
It seems he has had one of the biggest versions for about a year.
He wrote he would get back with a report, but I haven't seen anything.
What kind of settings are there?
Field weakening?
some sort of salient control for ipm motors?
It looks kind of basic when it comes to connections, but it seems like you can connect a phone.
Does it work as a display, maybe even logger?
I asked qs about it, but the only response I got was basically that he didnt like the controller.
Might have to do with that I also asked questions about the 180 90h motor, so he just suggested the APT 96800.

Re: Nanjing far driver controllers
Yes indeed

I don't know what to say, it is smooth, extremely powerful, plenty of top speed, so far it seems reliable, it's compact, doesn't seem to heat that much... I remember it was a bit difficult to set it up at first but it eventually worked.
Sorry my memory is a bit blurry since it's not my controller, I don't remember all the details.
He still has it installed on his bike, runs fine, no problem.
I believe he's not very active on the forum, but he's much more reactive on wechat, so if you have an account I can add you into our ebike group then you could ask him directly.
I'll try to ask him to check this thread tomorrow.
Yes
Not sure what you mean here. We used it on a hub motor, we don't have any inboard motor to test it.
I'm not sure because we tried lots of different controllers on his bike, kinda forgot.
I'm certain the Mobipus had that, but can't seem to remember how it works on the Nanjing Far.
I don't know why they say that, that's the best one I saw so far.
APT is supposedly a good brand, kebekua had one but unfortunately he never managed to make it work (despite many attempts), so can't say if it's any good. What I can say for sure is that the form factor is horrific, they are gigantic and very heavy.

Some sort of of compensation to get better efficiency and torque at low and mid range, especially on ipm motors.
In this clip it says MTPA on the screen, then it should have a really good system as far as I understand.

That, and the low battery amps is why I didnt go with them. (the low battery amps might be specific to the ones sold by qs it seems)
I already bought a sevcon for the yamaha, so I am not really shopping for a controller now.
But these look really interesting, so I sure get curious.
Maybe a backup plan, if I dont get the sevcon to work properly

The quality of Nanjing far driver controllers is still acceptable. You asked QS because they did not cooperate with FarDrive, so they do not recommend it for the sake of interest. The remote drive is more friendly to novices, and the debugging software is relatively simple and clear

Hi all. I want to tell about the bad experience with this FarDriver controller buy on Aliexpress. When plugging in the controller emits a noise that was not listed on the site. By discussing with the FarDriver representative I understood that I will not have any guarantee, knowing that the controller was purchased only 2 months ago. the second failure was that on the hall sensor output that goes on the motor wheel I had 8.9 volts which burnt my Halle sensor on the wheel I can tell you that it is not funny to change the hall sensor in a 5 KW motor All attempts to have a guarantee on the control have been unsuccessful here is a video I am making: https: //www.youtube.com/watch? v = XZCH9F_sEFg & ab_channel = isthereanyfood

What kind of noise do you get, does it make it all the time? Did they say why you didn't have any warranty, or did they just mean that it wasn't a fault?
I dont know about all hall sensors, but these 41f should be ok from 4,5-24v

Re: Nanjing far driver controllers
Hi all. I have looking at these controllers, ND 72530 and ND 84530 for an up and coming build. Does any one have any experience ( good or bad )with these. Have been in contact with fardriver and they tell me they pair up with the QS 3000 138 70 v3 motors with a self learning process and seem to be on par with the votol which can be sometimes a bit difficult to set up
They seem to have good figures on out put in the phase A and batt A
Cheers

Finally I found that there is a website in English: https://www.far-driver.com/
There was at least some info there, still some contradictory info but it is something at least.

I've taken the plunge and ordered the 72360 and 72530.
The 360 will be on a qs120 ktm85. Current nuc 12f
The 530 will be on a qs138 ktm250. Current nuc 24f.
Order direct from far-driver.
Qs is now selling their own branded identical controller.
Been told the votel are being phased out.
Will keep updated

I am building a battery for the 800A model right now. I'll let ya know how it goes.
I am thinking about buying that one. 1800A phase sounds fun.

Re: Nanjing far driver controllers
I'm interested in these controllers too and waiting for reviews.
The 72850 up to the 96850 will fit perfectly in my scooter.
I have the 70kg 21s 800A continous battery pack already installed in my scooter, but only a 5kw motor.
At first I want to test the current unlock with my SVMC72150 to see if my motor can take more amps. The second thing will be to try to repair my SVMC72260 which died while testing with flux weakening. Before I drove a little with 220 battery amps and 350phase amps. I changed all defective FETs and it worked again for a few days, now it doesn't turn the motor anymore but all FETs seem to be ok.

Will be looking forward to see what you think of these controllers once you have them, as in one of my builds I am running the QS120 and looking at 72530 / 84530 using the 130 70 v3 motor in a future build. Interesting you have been told that votol being phased out when they have a newer version of the EM 200/2 which has only been in production for 6 months and I got that information from QS too.Stevebequik wrote: ↑Sep 01 2021 1:35amI've taken the plunge and ordered the 72360 and 72530.

Re: Nanjing far driver controllers
Controllers turned up yesterday.
Shipping good. About 10 days to regional Australia.
Paid USD $149 for the 72360, $230 for the 72530 and $100 shipping.
Interestingly they both turned up in one sabvoton SVMC72200 box.
They included either a BT dongle or usd adaptor so requested one of each.
Certainly heavy compared to the nuc’s, but most of that weight appears to be in the 10mm thick solid aluminium base.
Will hopefully connect the smaller one to the 85 in the next day or so.

Re: Nanjing far driver controllers
Not going great so far.
The PC software is still all in Chinese.
The BT app is OK, however seems to lose sync very easily. Constantly closing app and reconnecting. Tried both the Android and iPad versions.
Self learn worked well and was able to go for one quick ride.
Controller was on its max (factory) settings of 190/360A
It was a bit too aggressive, so i tried to lower these.
Went to adjust the Max Phase Current & the Max Line current down a bit.
As soon as I hit the SAVE button,
Now I get the 4 Short beeps, 1 long beep and 5 short beep.
From page 9 of the limited documentation
“7.1.5 If there are 4 short beeps, 1 long beep, and 5 short beeps, the cycle repeats, indicating that the upgraded program does not match the controller. Please check whether the program is consistent with the model on the controller label. If it does not, find the matching program again upgrade”.
Struggling to get any support from FarDriver.
Nothing seems to correct the problem and controller is currently unusable.
Anyone got any ideas with the above chinenglish.

paid how much? - sounds low - and...
wrong packaging should be well cut sturdy black foam in sturdy black box with far driver logo - these are from g-d knows where.
***until futher notice DO NOT PLACE ORDERS THROUGH far-driver.com*** this is not an official dealer.
***What they are doing is making sales illegitimately "offline" - there is no buy button"***
some of the weight also comes from the silicon encased mosfets and board.
this drives me up the wall.

Re: Nanjing far driver controllers
Hi Redsea,
I assume www.far-driver.com was the official site. Certainly makes out it is.
Contact I used was lvchao@far-driver.com. This is the only email address I found on this site.
Was certainly surprised by packaging. My only thought was they tried to put both controllers in the absolute smallest packaging possible to save on shipping.
Initial hit was a bit like a light switch, also thought 360/190A could be a bit much for the QS120 so tried to save both at the same time to 300/150A.
Controller is still responsive to saving changes, but nothing I have tried stops the constant beeping and make it usable.
Will PM you.
