Hello

How can I know, how many poles I have on my motor?

Have a nice day

Count your magnets (assumeing its a pm motor) divide by 2 & you have the pole pairs.

Hello

My previous post was a little bit light, and there are some points you couldn't have guessed.
First it's a brushless motor. (you had guessed)
It's a hub bike motor.
But I don't have the tool to open it.

SO the only way I have to figure out how many poles there are without opening it is using the hall sensors.

What is the link between : how many times per turn hall sensors goes from high to low and number of poles.

Thanks

Have a nice day.

If you power up the hall sensors, their outputs will alternate from 5V to 0V and back when passing each magnet. So if you slowly turn the wheel and see 5 - 0 - 5 - 0 - 5 - 0, that means you've passed 3 magnets = 1 1/2 poles. Do this until you complet one wheel revolution. I hope this is correct, don't have any wheel nearby to check :)
