Took apart my Spark EV inverter and apparently you can take a peek at the bare die's of the device.
I guess it looks like 12 because of the reverse recovery diodes.
It's quite pretty so I thought I'd share.

Thanks for sharing! Quite the density of bond wires on those dice, looks quite neatly done.

Well, it is actually potted with this space age gel stuff. It's super clear and I didn't even notice it. And there's a plastic cover that I popped off the IGBT module to take the pic.... it's further shielded and then sealed in the inverter case. :)
I had to desolder the driver board just to get to the igbt, it's soldered right to the board.
