Tested with M300, M420, M500, M510, M600, M615, M620, should work also with hub motors with original Bafang controller.

For more info, video, usful tips, user manual and ordering over google forms: https://forms.gle/iBtY9dX9iZMQSRQw7
- check it, wont take more then 10 mins.
Also check page www.k1ebikes.com for brand new product - BB Racing, which can recalculate SOC of your DYI battery, remove power limitation, discharge battery deeper to get more range, use 52V battery with 48V firmware (or 48V battery and 43V firmware to get more power - usually +100W) and more...

Following video with older version BB2, behavior of BB3 is the same.

- Device is plugged in front of display and comes pre-set with your desire parameters - I gonna send you the questionnaire during ordering process.
- Plug and play - by press and hold Plus button you switch between High and Low speed limit.
- Auto set Low Speed after motor power on - limit speed will automatically set to Low speed :thumb: - can be turned off.

- Set new motor parameters by clicking over PASS 012321 (wheel circumference, wheel size, M510/M610 also Max power, Acceleration, Support level, RPM, Startup Angle - only with latest M510 motor FC2.0 and firmware version 8.1+). You can go back to your original parameters (device will read and store these parameters when first time motor turned on) by clicking again 012321 (go to pass level 0 and then press quickly 3 times plus and 2 times minus). - many people were asking me about this - if you wanna give ebike to service.

- You can activate new parameters and unplug the device. Or to have installed device permanently and also use Autoset Low speed after motor power on.

- You can easily set any Low and High speed and all other parameters by connecting over USBC to computer or Android mobile phone - step by step how to document included.

Interesting stuff, thats best solution for people who want to have legal/offroad modes in modern Bafang CAN based bikes. No downsides.

New ultimate version under developement, will be ready in a month...

Propose a name for this device here, will ship a small present (small bicycle lights + water bidon) to person, when I use the proposal.

Black Box was just first idea. BB can stand also for Bafang unBlocker. ;)

First BB2 sold. Only 3 left - again problems with microcontroller supply. :( Mid January awaiting availability.

BB2 v2.1 now with support of new Bafang dispalys.

BB3 v3.0 supporting latest M510 motor to set all the parameters. Default bafang setup from factory is really weired, max power: 50%, 75%, 100%, 100%, 100%
You need to have latest M510 with FC2.0 controller and firmware at least v8.1 (for 36V and 10.1 for 48V)

V3.2 - now supporting also motor Calibration (needed when u replace controller, also recommend after firmware flash), ODO set/reset (only on new displayc DPC245 and later), info screen (readings as is - this is what I get from motor ;)

Now discount 10% for people who add code "endless4ever" into ordering form under Notes.

Check also K1 Flash with firmware update function. Simple to use, just connect and wait for green light. Comes with SD card with lot of firmwares for M500, M510, M600 and M620. Not waterproof, external power, cant be permanently connected on ebike like BB3.

K1 Flash Light (no firmware upload function) - you can unlock 2 Bafang CAN motors - now special price 110Eur including shipping to EU with code "Endless4ever"

10% discount with code "endless4ever" - enter into ordering form under Notes.

If you interested in M600 firmware without power limitation (putting full power even at 10%) check K1 Flash.
Also one version with lower power on PAS1 (150W) and full throtle at each PAS - which is great! Finally.

Hello.
Have managed a little breakthrough - removed power limitation at 30%, for those who dont own original CAN Bus Bafang battery. And you can get energy from battery up till the end (even set Low Voltage Cutoff). A small device needs to be connected on e-bike permanently. Yes, looks like it is a penalty, when you not using original CAN battery - to annoy people. ;)

It is not easy though to make correct translation from voltage to SOC without fuel guage chip inside battery BMS.

Can be out in a month. Lot of developing and testing (it is time consuming as I need to discharging battery in real ride)
Could be named K1 BBR.

Any ideas are welcome.

Sucking 19A at 29V ;)

Hello Roland. Yes, if it is CAN bus motor, then will be working.

New product introducing. BB Racing - can trick the battery. You get more energy from battery. Also u can use 52V battery with 48V motor. Or 48V and 43V to have more power.

without prejudice to the excellent work you have done.

Hello. Go definitelly with M510 FC2.0 - here you can set also torque sensitivity (aka Assistance level percentage) plus some more params (acceleration, max current, startup angle, rpm). M500 does not support anything - only Speed limit and Wheel size.

Comands are ok. ;) You gonaa set it once and no need to change them usually. Majority (>90%) of customers did not ever connect it to computer. We are setting parameters for customer according his need.

Check www.k1ebikes.com for new device - BB Racing

Ciao.

Hello. You can use any DYI battery with Bafangs. Only exception was M625, where motor started only with original Bafang CAN battery. You wont be able to set anything on M500 (only speed limit and wheel size). Battery parameters to set not possible at all. Here is not possible to set even battery capacity. Crazy. If you have CAN bus battery motor will read its capacity from battery and then calcualating range.
Is true, there is bigger power limitation at low SOC (from 25%) and also higher Low voltage cut off when not using original CAN battery. And this is BBR solving. Also with BBR connected you should be able to run M625 with DYI battery with no CAN bus connector.

Ciao.
