I just got a Toyota hybrid MGR working. It's an Interior permanent magnet motor, and is rated for 650v at 50kW I believe. This test was just at 120v, Id = 0, Iq = 0 to 20amp. Later I'll run some acceleration tests to see what negative Id gives the best torque per amp, so it will be properly run as an interior permanent magnet motor. These things are pretty cheap on Ebay usually. I think this one was $300. I have no idea how to hook it up in a car, though, but I might stick it on a gocart or something. The torque command converges in about 0.002 seconds, and is very stable.
