Not waiting for Tesla or Nikola, ..an Aussie company “JANUS Electric ” has developed an alternative approach to the EV Truck issue.
They offer an “EV.Conversion” for existing Diesel trucks using a 350kW motor and 4-600 kWh “swappable” battery pack together with a proposed “Battery Change Station” network , along the major highways.
Conversion projected to cost Au$ 85k, with batteries at either Au$100k each , or available on lease for $140/ day
They claim the pack swap will only take 3 mins with common packs for all truck types
