Might as well buy a tent if they're making the pop up walls out of fabric.
Seems to me like it was an after thought, or just ran out of time/money for the build.
If that vehicle had rigid walls in the pop up, you wouldn't be able to drive (or enter and exit) with it in the down position.
Look at that ground clearance! I'm sure it improves aerodynamics and increases range, but it looks like you'll high-center the thing if you camp anywhere besides Walmart.
Around here (HWY 1 in central CA), Walmart is the campground of choice. Almost every night there are a dozen or more big buck motorhomes parked on their parking lot. To me motorhomes are only useful if there are no motels where I want to spend the night.
Some pop ups will use rigid walls that will fold down and still keep it pop up style, yet you can still use the interior, minus the width of the walls. Takes more skill to do then stapling some fabric and still hear sounds through the fabric when your trying to sleep = Just buy a tent - https://cooltent.club/largest-pop-up-tent-available/
Camper Trailer - Of course you all know about the slide-outs.
