Hi all,

Random question/concept time... we're building a VQ35 powered 350Z for a customer who is very committed to adding power using an electric machine.

It's going to be a high spec engine build as it is, but he'd like to benefit from the additional low-down torque of electric.
One nice, simple option I'm considering would be to use the Hyper9 motor, coupled directly to the front of the crank.

The VQ35 tops out at about 9krpm, it's being built with a high-spec forged crank anyway, which should handle the torque from the motor being put through it.

We'd be removing the alternator (& starter) so would 3D scan the motor in and design a mount/coupling system. Starting and 12V would be handled with the Hyper9 and the hybrid battery respectively.

So, my main question is - has anyone seen/done anything like this with a motor hard coupled to the engine? I can't personally see any reason why this can't work, but there's quite possibly something I'm missing, which is where you clever lot come in!

Cheers!
