Currently have a Razor E300(48v 1000w Lithium) project going on but my brother made an offer on 2 Bladez XTRSE for the low.......$50 later had a Bladez XtrSE

They both didnt work.....hence the cheap price...... both of them .....throttle shot......had to find the sweet spot to get it moving.....wasnt what I was use too......but it was 15mph felt great.......just wanted more.....the frame felt better over the Razor to me......

Used a DC to DC step up converter.......on load 38.5v no blowing up just yet...(14.5v overvolt)

Wasnt bad.......wasnt bad at all....... it's the way the scooter should of come...... the way the motor whine :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: .......you know its overvolted......the motor act normal....... but when you full throttle.......the top end pull tho...... took out the DC step up......only the SLA 3x 12v 15ah( 41.4v) my brother did the speed run for me....... (still didnt feel fast to me :( )

So I striped the Bladez and wanted to tear down the razor...... but it was too much wiring to undo....... guess I gotta look for a new setup

Started the build process......... This should be fun........ First thing to go was the old variable throttle and replaced with a new 1 with a key and voltmeter built in...... kept the stock brake...... just spliced in the brake motor kill switch.....

Yes the motor fit pretty much straight......have to drill my own holes.....but it should work :D :D :D :D (hard to keep the motor straight and take a photo.....HEAVY)

Problem......the motor has a t8f sprocket........wheel sprocket #25........ I don't know the bolt pattern of the sprocket.......

Solution....... E300 rear wheel...... after banging, heating and streching the frame........adjusting and swapping spacers between the bladez rear wheel hardware and the E300 hardware....... have a creation.....

The motor offset look crazy......kinda like it not sure yet....... remind me of my go-ped when I was 16yr...........

Finally got the chain mounted........ broke the chain breaker tool.......2 min job....... turnt into a 45min job......... wish I was running a chain tensioner......... just a fan of 1........ still need to grind down the frame some...... chain rubs a little when spinning by hand...... not enough for me to fix right now....... put the seat on just to see how it looks

Removed the stock on and off switch and XLR charger port from the stock location..... added my charger port....... and 3 speed low/med/high switch........

All I can say is wow....... going from a 1000w brushed motor to an 1800w brushless......its night and day :shock:...... no matter how hard I try to keep it down...... yup..... it tends to lift up..... but if you can MAN up...... and hold it all the way through...... within 3 and 1/2 cars.... I'm at 28mph.......

it's not for kids....... the torque...... the torque...... I knew it wasn't in my head..... the average speed for 2mins....... 20mph...... but it seem like I was limited...... the scooter hesitated......went.....hesitated and then went........... maybe the battery cant handle the load? Idk......... so I went looking to see what the controller amps are?

3 shunts? Not bad not bad...... I really hate modifing shunts...... you cant control it.......it will send whatever new current you are creating instant........smooth start......goodbye...... until my new controller come it will be my test unit........

Now is it worth the mods.....NO!!!!! not at all...... 4 of my friends......yup ate pavement..... (kinda scared of it) but I know its more left....... but for 51seconds ........ 19mph average but 31mph in 51 seconds...... unless you ride this (DEATH TRAP) you wont understand...... you cant plant the power......(its FAST.....and TORQUEY) I dont want to go faster.......
 
So my brother called me to Brooklyn....... we rode to Prospect Park.......First time I had it out with someone who can maintain speed and tried to cruise with it........I cant hold anything less than 20mph......anything under 20mph...... the front tends to throw you off if you apply full throttle...... but oh boy is it fun...... it more than enough to keep up with traffic.....25mph..... but like I said..... she had more she did........ new top speed 33mph......

Now I'm limited by the gearing......now I must change my gearing....... have 2 options...... 39mph and 45mph...... but what I learnt from my last build........ faster you go...... you will lose the ability to climb hills...... 45mph is great but not if it takes me 10 cars to get there......takes 2 and 1/2 cars to hit 33mph.......(live in NYC...... CARS dont respect bicycles.....let alone an Escooter)
 
Nice upgrades. Now time to get a more powerful controller. Make sure your battery can handle that though.

That being said, it's a real pain to read with all that punctuation. I bet your keyboard "." key must be pretty worn out.

Now I'm having battery issues......... my battery cutting out since the shunt mods....... my bms 50amp (100 amp burst)....(back to Math :D :D :D :D .....48vx50amp 48v100amps) coming off the charger with 54.4(54.4x50amps 54.4x 100amps math over)..... on load full speed 33mph.....44v....... (not including the hesitation...and skipping) maybe to much on the shunts 12 gauge stranded...... I know I'm killing my battey.......
After some rough math..... know wonder its trying to kill me.... so I order another 48v 20ah...... 48v 40ah= 100amp 200 burst.......
When the battery came......went straight to wiring...

So maybe it's me or maybe its me......(lol its me) but I think I blew the controller for the 1800w........ the throttle is dead.... not the throttle but......when I turn the key..... its power....... twist the throttle.......nothing.......

Not wanting to waste more time and tear apart the controller.......(tested the mosfets good) yup.....still don't move..........
Determined to keep riding......... swapped it over to the old 1000w set up that was on my razor.........

This was the fastest scooter motor I owned at the time..... but it's so slow compared to the 1800w...... I cant believe how slow it was........yup next move was shunt mods.........
The down low torque was enough....... didn't lift and try to kill me.....but it did lift enough to make me earn some of its respect.........

So now I'm 2 weeks in..... not 1 issue.......everything going good........ it's no 1800w(controller in the mail) but its good..... I decided to go to Brooklyn from Queens......(this motor did it once already.....not shunted :lol: ) hoping for the same results....... 3 block away from my destination........ I start to lose power....... I slowly turn the throttle......I hear the chain moving.......I hear its not moving as fast as I got the throttle turnt........ I just knew the FREEWHEEL tapped out.....happened to look down....... FLAMES..... no blue....only orange FLAMES coming from the inside of my motor........ I PANICKED, jumped off the scooter.....started blowing the FIRE out....... it went out...... but now I'm in front of a restuarant with outdoor seating(the smell and smoke coming out of my motor) people was staring.......EMBARRASSED......took that walk of shame.......

What I learnt so far......... invest in a good BMS.......short circuit protection cutoff saved my life......over 180 lithium cells was on board.........LOLOL nah for real...... leave it stock.......
 
Now after 3 days of no riding.......I couldnt wait until USPS pulled up......so I started the motor swap.....

A little bit of solder on the shunts.......nothing to crazy to burn stuff up.......They say people talk from EXPERIENCE not THEORY...... :lol: :lol:.....everything went well......but couldnt get a speed run in.....had to help a friend get his 36v up and running

The next day.... trip to BK(6.4m).....why I would go.....I just burnt a motor going to the same place but.......it made it....... no real pulls....refuse to do the same thing 2x........new top speed was achieved in the process

It was only the key switch OPEN......jumped the 2 wires...... and we had a running motor.......he left his charger.......you guessed it me either.... if you got lemons.....lemonade it is..... oh it took forever to charge

After his scooter was fully charged......... we headed out......I went for another speedrun......wasnt too bad but new top speed was achieved again.....but the 36v smelt like the 1000w......I told him chill cut it off you cooking it........that was it for the night/morning

No matter how hard I try to break 40 mph, I just cant..... only topping out at 38 mph...... granted its way faster than a scooter should ever go ....... but my calculations say 45 mph........ every other calculation (Calc. 27 mph I did 28 mph Calc. 33 mph I did 33 mph) Now this is my disconnect......i cant break 40 mph.......This 13s 40ah isnt cutting it......... time to up the voltage,shunt mod only isnt enough for what I need

Unfortunately this chapter has come to an abrupt end......Its was all fun and games....... I thought it was funny...... until my friend slammed into a park car at 40 mph.......yup the scooter totaled(preview of the new build below)
