1000w controller on a 250w motor

I’m upgrading my scooter in pieces one at a time.
I want to upgrade the controller first and step up to a 1000w. I figure it should be ok for the motor. But what if I step up the voltage (from 24 to 36) and wattage (1000w). It will be hard on the motor but I should be ok right?

It will work fine but you will need to watch your motor temp and avoid jackrabbit starts as it may overheat when you are pushing more current through it.

swxh 24v to 48v 1500w without problems, depends on what engine you have

what does "jackrabbit starts" mean?

A jackrabbit start means a full throttle start from a dead stop.
