I do like the use of those $5-10 at garage sale kids bikes. A scooter is better with bigger wheels. I don't like the brakes, especially that rear brake. Nothing but problems at real speeds. The front is rarely enough.

A long time ago the one teenager around here put a weedwacker motor on that little bike. No real brakes, but he got going well, especially down hill. Once he had enough minor hurts he gave it up before a major one. Real brakes will be easier than. . . .

True, the cantilever and drum brakes will not compare to discs. The frame and wheels would require extensive modification to accommodate discs (more than I am prepared to do). I will simply have to ride accordingly to the brakes the scooter has :wink:
