Hey all not sure if this is the right place but after some guidence from people who know there stuff.. after doing some searchs I got lost with all the technicals
I have a 48v 1000w(1600 peak) brushed motor , lead acid scooter that does 36kph..
Straight away was disappointed with performance
So I went online and bought a 48v 2000w brushless motor with speed controller to suit max 33ah..
Then a 48v li-on 40ah battery to go with it
Have a bought the right setup or wasted my money due to my un educated purchase haha
Any help much appreciated
Just after more performance all round at this stage

It is all in the gearing, the gear on the motor, the gear on the wheel, the motors kv and the voltage your using.
Since you have a fixed wheel size, a fixed battery voltage then you have to play around with the gearing, the gears.

What is the disappointment?
Torque is what you want to get up to speed quickly. To little torque with to much top end speed, means it will take a long time to get up to speed.
Torque means a small drive gear on the motor (bicycle crank when pedaling) to a large driven gear on the wheel (rear cassette on a bicycle when pedaling, this gives you torque going up a hill to climb, means you have to pedal faster, means you go slower, but the more torque climbs the hill), this is what your motor gear and your wheel gear will do to help improve the quickness.

Thanks for you reply!
I was disappointed all over .. torque wasn't there top speed wasn't there.. wasn't impressed at all..
The old setup just seems rubbish .. 3000rpm where as new setup 4300rpm.. so hoping that same gearing and bigger motor and battery I should have a good combo

I want more power overall.. acceleration and ideally too speed of 60kph.. hoping my new setup will achieve that

Performance gain for sure. I see people had been over volting those motor all the way up to 60v. If I were you I would hold off on the battery and just try the motor 2k brushless 1st. Lot of people use those motor on razor mx650 upgrade. Maybe you can go from there on you research.
Cheer

Cheers mate I'm hoping for big improvement.. the batter/controller and motor on there way so it's Abit late haha.. fingers crossed it's the goods

New setup goes good but only gains 12kph.. alot more torque down low though

More torque is good. If you want more speed you can start player with gears. One more tooth on the motor gear etc...
