I have been away from ES for several years now after stopping my Alien Drive E-Skate business and at the time i was building E-Skates and playing around with E-scoots but most people wanted the Eskates .. although i found the escoots way safer!!
I know see that E-scoots have become the new E-skate..and i here are some of my ongoing build using my own designed frame which has evolved over the years ( i initially had the frame made because i simply couldn't find a stunt scooter to convert)
They are machined and fabricated from 6082 Aluminium making them bioth very light and very strong with lots of space for the Lipo and adjustable motor mount
Maybe the frames would be of interest to people?
My scoots generally weigh around 8- 10kg but will reach over 30mph and have a 20-30 mile range - they have a rear disc brake ,robust chain drive.simple but very effective Folding neck pivot ( requested many years ago by a ES member) and a novel acceleration and speed control system that I've developed with the help of a Engineer from Bentley..:)- this allow all types of user to ride it
I have built several version with low geared knobbly tires from rougher terrain and longer geared road tyre version and a stunt scooter 125mm wheeled version for my son.. ..all perform really nicely-

That looks pretty good. I remember my old Zappy scooter with lead-acid batteries, 150W of power and a range of about 6 miles. Things have come a long way since then. One of the biggest problems I had when commuting by scooter were the pot holes in the street. Especially at night in the fog they were hard to see and would make for a bad day if hit unexpectedly. Larger wheel diameter is very helpful there, but increases size and weight.
 
oh yeah your right..i started on 125mm wheels and ended up with 9" diameter - but ive settled on the standard 200mm MTB wheels- They are easy to buy and work just right with the high rpm pf the BLDC motor
 
ok- some updates on my scooter build..
i have completed my smaller -travel friendly scoot-
this is running a 7s 5800 lipo and a 5065 motor with pneumatic 6" skike tyres- its good for 23mph but really nice acceleration and car boot friendly..:) only weighs 6kgs. really happy with the performance

then the first of the bigger scoots -
these are running 8s/and 10 s lipo and 6374 motor with 120 a esc- with 8" mountain board wheel - incs a 3d printed brake disc mount and drive system,.
this is super power full acceleration but really smooth and it feels really solid and stable with the longer wheel base
both these scoots have an onboard acceleration and top speed adjustment - so any one can ride them ..including my 8 year old daughter ..:)
Just turn the green dial to adjust top speed and the white dial to adjust accel curve from stupid to sedate..:)

Just grip tape to add and BMS to sort out

Next build is a knobbly tyred version for a customers son..in bright green. probably use the new Vesc 6 or focbox for some smooth low end torque.

It looks like mild steel square tubing for your frames?
