Ireland's Supreme Court has ruled that bread sold by the fast food chain Subway contains so much sugar that it cannot be legally defined as bread.

The ruling came in a tax dispute brought by Bookfinders Ltd., an Irish Subway franchisee, which argued that some of its takeaway products - including teas, coffees and heated sandwiches - were not liable for value-added tax.

edit - Here is there nutrient list for bread.

American tourist: "this has to be labeled sweet-bread now to meet regulations? It's not sweet at all!"

(*puts granulated sugar into a large metal spoon, starts melting it with a cigarette lighter..begins twitching and drooling slightly....).

Pour it in a pan and cook the sugar

You make caramel by melting sugar, and there are two methods for melting (or cooking) sugar: "wet" and "dry." For either method, you need a perfectly clean saucepan and clean white sugar. Stray crumbs of any sort can cause the caramel sauce to crystallize and become grainy.

I used to eat a sandwich there

6" turkey on wheat
White American cheese
Lettuce
Salt, pepper, oil, vinegar
Honey Mustard

I would take it with the 2 cookie and a drink deal.

They taste sorta good if you eat it right away... but... I once left one until the next day. OMFG - so nasty. That stuff is not food. I dont know what it is, but it is foul. If you cant eat it a day later, then something is very, very, wrong with it.

It... went thru some sort of phase change. Nasty business I tell you.
