Hi !

I have installed a torque sensor ERider on my Krampus, and a temperature cable.
Then I have updated my Cycle Analyst from v 3.14 to v3.15 (CA3-15b3_firmware.cahex).
Everything is working well, apart from the speedometer, which displays 0 kph most of the time, and sometimes bursts to inconsistent values, well below the real speed. Before the modification, it was working well (with a standard PAS).

Some thoughts about the possible reason ? Setup issue (Cycle Analyst or Phaserunner), or cable/sensor out of order ?

Was is still working after the PAS swap and adding the temp wire (but before upgrading the firmware)? Or did you do that all at once?
I did both at once. I have tried to disconnect the thermistor, no change.
Grin has advised me to set the Differential Speed Gain at 0 (and the speedo poles count at 6), but it didn't change anything neither.
I attach below Phaserunner and CA my setup, if anyone can help

We have one with the same issue. Justin mentioned that the ground path to the PCB pad for the speedo input had too much impedance, recommended soldering a jumper from another pad ground.

What is curious is that before changing the PAS, installing the thermistor, and updating the firmware of the CA, the speedometer was working perectly.

This is what I purchased:
GMAC REAR KIT, ADVANCED PAS
Motor Winding Speed
1 x GMAC10T
1 x Rim26_Alex
1 x Phaserunner_L10
V3 Cycle Analyst
1 x CA3-WP
Include Auxiliary Input and On/Off Switch
1 x CA3_MFSwitch
Pedal Sensor Type
1 x PAS_24P
Throttle Choice
1 x T-Lever
eBrake Cutoffs
1 x TripWire_Pull
Thermistor Cable
1 x ThermCable

Installation was fairly straightforward.
No significant problems.
Also purchased 20AH-36V battery. Certainly over capacity for most of what I have been doing.

Hmm,
is your Kit from Grin a RTR Kit? Was the CA3 preconfigured ? (if yes, did you make a backup of the preconfig RTR Config on your CA3 and can you upload the original CA3 Config?)

Btw.
with beta Firmware 3.15b1 was some changed was affected in 3.15b3 too.
read the Release notes in your CA3 Software Utility path.
(/CA_Setup_Utility_v1.55/data/help/CA3-15b3_ReleaseNotes.html)

Some changes are interesting like this: (see full changes in atatched File)

(4) 7345 - Measured speed shows glitches

The calculated speed shows transient erroneous values for certain motors
under particular circumstance (e.g. GMAC drawing over 1200W).

Processing for the SPEED signal has been modified to ignore aspects of the
signal that were previously being erroneously included in Calculations.

This is an internal change with no consequences for CA setup or existing
setup files.
