Hello, I am installing a front hub motor, the Bafang BFSWXK36V250W255R, on a controller, Type LD-FXK002, which is Bafang compatible. The only thing is...............the speed is completely wrong on the display. I tried to change it in the Bafang software but I cannot get it right. It diplays a very high speed and when I change the tire size to the smallest one it still is too much. PAS sensor is a single pole unit with 12 magnets. What to do?

I have no idea but my display have a adjustable resistor on the PCB that can be adjusted with a screwdriver to fine tune the display of the speed.

Hi, yes it was the speed meter signal. It was on 1 so I've put it to 6 so the speed is correct. Thanx :bigthumb:
I used a standard BBS software setting, which is 1 because of the wheel sensor which is external, instead that of a 6 pulse per rotation for a frontwheel hub motor.

PS I use the Bafang BBS0* configuration software for this because its a bafang controller.

Next problem is it will start supporting when you cycle faster than 12 km/h which is way too late for starting to support it. Anybody any id's?

If there isn't any software setting for this, you could change the speed sensor so it outputs many more pulses than it should, so that the bike thinks it's going much faster than ti actually is.

Adding more magnets to the wheel will do this. For instance, if your present sensor has 6 magnets, adding 6 more will double the speed the sensor detects, and halve the speed at which assist will begin.

Changing the speedometer setting to a lower number of magnets does the same thing; if you had 6 magnets but you tell it you only have 3, it also doubles the speed it detects and thus halves the speed at which assist will begin.

THat will make it begin assisting sooner, at slower speeds, but it also will mess up your speed display.

The good news is it's pretty easy to get a separate speedometer / cycle "computer", if you have to alter the speed sensor to get better assist.

Thanx, will try the speed trick!
