Hi everyone,

Trying to do much stuff of my self, but help always needed, specially when comes to upgrade the hub motor or controller.

Common things need to be done, like adding a temp sensor to the motor, to make that work with the controller (in my case Sabvoton)

Nice if that would be in London or near because I would prefer to deliver parts my self rather sending by post...

P.S.
Moderators... Maybe would be better at some point to create another "Discussion topics???", maybe name that as "Service wanted & offered". Just an idea...

Temp sensor wire in the motor is easy to do.
Opening up the motor - https://ebikes.ca/learn/troubleshooting.html
Wiring temp thermistor - https://youtu.be/Wc8OJtFRUng?t=789
*Be sure you have the right thermistor for your controller.

I think that "Help wanted and offered" covers that pretty well?

Yes, Possibly covers. But sometimes the sentence "help wanted" people will understand as "free of charge", when the sentence "service wanted" - already means service for cash.

But, yes maybe you are right and no need to change anything...

Yes, thank you. Did see videos like those. The hard part is to adapt my Sabvoton for reading motor temperature.(SVMS7280)

I was thinking all Sabvoton controllers can read motor temperature from the box... But my one not. It needs someone who have experience with controllers to do that.

Then you need to either sell the current controller you already have and buy a controller with a temperature sensor, or convert the controller you have. I dont keep up on Sabvoton controllers, but you sure you can convert a non temp sens cont to a temp sens?
If that be the case, then someone needs to be able to find the solder pads on the pcb board and wire it up, along with figuring out the correct actual temp sensor to buy, maybe its the 10k maybe not, who knows? not me.

I highly doubt you'll find anyone near you to do any work at all, aside from what a bicycle store can do but even then they (local bicycle stores) dont like working on home made ebikes. And if they do, they won't know much to fix things aside from the rma'ing product and soldering a wire or two, replacing controllers and motors, not opening up controllers and motors to troubleshoot and when I say controllers and motors, its their own motors and their own controllers.

My suggestion is to look through ads in online classifieds and hopefully in the ebike section you'll find that one guy whether legit or not that likes working and tinkering on other peoples ebikes.

Why not just buy one of these ($8);

https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Refrigerator-Thermometer-Thermostat-Temperature/dp/B073RP1476/ref=sr_1_93?dchild=1&keywords=remote+temp+gauge&qid=1618084113&sr=8-93

or this ($5);

I have used one like this for years.

The default function for SVMC controller: Hall plug, throttle signal, ignition, hall speed signal, high brake(12v), 0-5v e-brake, three speed switch, temp sensor, reverse, low brake(0v),flux weakening,USB cable,regen brake. (support regen braking, can adjust the regen power by software.)

Built-in various protection: locked-rotor protection, over-current protection, overload protection, over-temperature protection, speed protection, over-voltage protection ,under-voltage protection and so on, effectively ensuring the safety of electronic control system and vehicle.

PS. Temp Sensor Options: KTY84/130, KTY83/122, 10K@25C NTC(model MF58-103F3950).
QS Motor could work 120 ℃ in half an hour without damage.

Yes, you are right - it's very hard to add temperature sensing. But not all Sabvoton controller are without ability measuring the motor's temperature. So, maybe manufacture in certain models do not bring out wires necessary for that (in our case is white wire for hal sensor plug)

I don't know, should be temp wires there but maybe they are just not labelled or maybe some sabvoton models dont have it. All the ones I looked at had the temp wires.

Are all your wires on the controller accounted for
You know what every wire and connector does
Are all the wires labelled?

Sorry did miss your post...

Yes, I know what most connectors do expect few of them, like alarm, but that shouldn't be a problem (I believe...)
All wires labelled, yes.
