Can anybody in the Brisbane or Sunshine Coast area (Australia) recommend a workshop competent to set up a NuVinci hub? I have one which was incompetently installed, w.r.t. the cables. I could have a go at it myself, with a good set of instructions from Park Tool I have found, but I would prefer not to.
Sad that Ash McGowan was killed. He'd have done the job properly, no worries.

Not exactly local to you (down in Logan) but an extremely competent mechanic

Thanks Grautuefel. I am resigned to travelling as necessary, since my searches so far have been fruitless, and I understand that the job is complicated - so complicated that, in spite of a technical background, I don't want to do it. After much contemplation, I am convinced the bike will fit in the car, with the back seats down.......

Anybody else?

Not yet, but we are in the middle of (successfully) selling our house on the Sunshine Coast and (unsuccessfully) buying an apartment in Brisbane, so the bike is secondary. I suspect I am not the typical client for your guy, but, when the bike comes out of storage, I will give him a call. Thanks.

Lol, we are not "outdoorsy" people. I got him to do the work because someone who cannot afford to have their machine fail on them would probably be a fairly competent mechanic. Good luck with the apartment hunting, I hear it is a nightmare at the moment.
