Decided to try out bafang G510 motor (also known as Ultra or M620).

As a donor new Cube Hybrid frame designed for Bosch motor was used. Didn't wanted to buy overpriced Chinese frame, especially considering enormous import cost to EU.
After bafang motor shell fitting, priming, painting and assembly the final result:

Some spec:
Battery 14s6p (84 cells total). Nominal voltage 58V. Battery capacity 21 Ah. LG INR18650-MJ1 cells used. BMS rated for 80A continuous.
Bike weight 28,5 kg.
Wheels 27,5

Is the bafang mount shell designed to retrofit Bosch-based frames?

No it is not. But it is as good as a starting point, in my opinion, for the following reasons:
1. The frame was initially designed for an e-bike. The frame is beefier compared to a regular bike frame. Good cable management.
2. After removing original mounts and fitting in the shell, there is a lot of material left on the frame offering a large welding area, keeping the original frame integrity untouched (not weakening the original welding).
3. Shaped downtube was designed to fit the battery nicely, and there is lot of space for custom battery.

Nice! Done a similar conversion, but used adapter plates, which saved me the welding process and gave me a little bit more ground-clearance. I documented it over here: https://www.pedelecforum.de/forum/index.php?threads/haibike-xduro-fullseven-s-7-0-2017-bosch-speed-45km-h-auf-bafang-g510-m620.80722/

And I didn't want to destabilize the frame, through welding. Other than you, I used an S-Pedelec, to keep the registration for the license plate. I also tried to fit an 14S7P into the DP-9: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4627055

I was able to create a kit that doesn't require welding nor flexing away parts of the frame, so that the conversion is fully reversible. I'm currently searching for people that are willing to extensively test the kit for, before I can officially sell it. Hit me if you want to!

:bigthumb: Good idea.
I have been thinking about adapter plates, but using them I would be losing ground clearance.
Thank you for your offer, but I have 3 custom e-bikes in my possession. Fourth would be too much.
