Still waiting on parts to arrive.
I was hoping to cram as much as 21700s in the tube but the safest bet I can see right now is 14s3p config, 52v15A. Maybe it’ll just tether to backpack if needed later.
I plan on having 2sets of wheels, one street tires and one off road/sand beach.

Hol' up there. Did we miss the bit where you discussed the wacky lacing? The make of rims you sourced, the fork fitted and everything else? This is an awesome build btw.

Lol no I never discussed any detail parts of the build. The lacing wasn’t intentionally twisted at first. But due to extra 4mm length, error on my part, I put 2 twists to them. According to a pro wheel lacing on YouTube it’s just as strong so I’m not too concern. Already put over 30miles on those wheels. Fork is an older muru cycle inverted, 135mm hub/15mm thru axle. I have very little clearance left with those 4.8” tires.

Headlight and tail light. Turns on by oem control, brake sensor also trigger tail light on.

Got another set of wheels, 27.5” sun ringle mulefut 80mm with Bontrager gnarwal front and barbegarzi rear-both tubeless. Definitely make it a lot easier to steer and feel like a normal bike but still can float on soft wet sand. I wasn’t able to find a mastodon ext anywhere, all out of stocks with promises within weeks to be in, so I took my other bbshd fatty with a cheapo Blutu inverted fork with 150ta. However I’ve never been happy with the crappy damper cartridge came with it, so I modded a Wren all-weather-damper cartridge to fit. Had to drill/shave thinner, a bit on the bottom for the rebound screw to fit in deep enough. Also shortened the rebound knob a few mm for clearance. The top was j-b welded epoxy putty to create an adapter with threading to be able to remove the damper. And that made the cheap fork wayyyy better but still not a real Wren with the negative air chamber.
The dirt bike mudguards are superb on a nasty day, my back/face are spotless

sick! the twist lacing gets me all excited like it did back in the 90s - i grew up riding during the boutique cnc era when that was somewhat common. actually, i have over 30 bikes from that era in the collection

phenomenal job on the build

Time to upgrade/extra battery for more zooming time.
Ive finally learned to use a cad software to draw up my battery box. It took a bunch of trials of 20+ hrs per print to get the right one lol but it’s all worth it.

Very cool bike. Nice Job on the battery box.

What kind of cells did you end up using?

I have 3 batteries for the bike. The oem battery box built with Tesla 21700 5000mah cells 14sx3p, the other two 3d printed batteries one with LgHg2 3000mah 18650 cells 14sx5p and the other with Sanyo 3400mah 18650 cells 13sx7p.
