Hi everybody, I'd like to share my semi-custom build. Almost everything except the frame is somewhat custom. It's my daily commuter vehicle, 15 km both ways on average. I have more than 10,000 km's on it now. Used in all weather and road conditions you can think of, trail, mountainous, rough asphalt and gravel (mainly), snow, ice, mud. Does very well overall and has been serving me fine.

Mid motor: Bafang BBSHD 1000W, Eggrider display, half-twist throttle, 52V triangle 20Ah battery
Hub motor: Bafang 750w, 500C display, thumb throttle, 48V 14Ah battery hidden inside frame

Can ride with one for regular riding or both for hard acceleration, usually to match the city traffic speed for safety, or to avoid traffic altogether. Prefer pedaling to keep in good shape whenever suitable - 50 kg weight helps :). Have done up to 60km/hr with added pedaling. 52-tooth chain ring enables me to keep at it at high speeds.

Hydraulic disc brakes, 20''x4 tires, 9 speed rear derailleur, full suspension, front shock is lockable for clean asphalt riding. Added 12V and 5V converters for charging stuff, and recording continuous GoPro videos. Also added a loud motorcycle horn to be taken more seriously by jaywalkers and cars alike.

Can haul very heavy cargo when needed, the frame is absurdly rigid and wheels are very durable (heavy too though) Folding frame (and handlebar) helps carry it up to my 10th floor apartment with the unusually small elevator of my building, otherwise I'd have to leave it downstairs at the entrance and worry about theft all the time. Also two of these fit in the back of a hatchback when folded, so trail and mountain trips are easy to organize.

Lemme know what you think. Cheers!

Very compact and well thought out to serve your needs.

Do you worry about triangle battery theft? Someone could slice the velcro straps so easily with a box cutter and walk away with the battery.

Fantastic! So where are the frame & wheels from?

Combination of Aliexpress, banggood and dhgate. Some ebay and amazon as well for some accessories.

Yes, I'm thinking of using one locking metallic strap or maybe fabricating something. Though I seldom leave it unguarded outside.

Links please if it isn't too much trouble?

Sure.

The wheels with rear integrated hub motor: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002115395367.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5aeb4c4dIVOwzi
The triangle battery: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001872079424.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5aeb4c4dIVOwzi

I'm waiting for a front hub motor version of the wheels. I'll upgrade to 3 motors, just to see how it works.

The simple bike with frame seems to be not available anymore, been a while. I got Lekkie 52T chainring and Eggrider display from Fasterbikes. Mid motor from AliExpress, Bafang BBSHD.

The frame (very similar) is available on https://cmacewheel.com/product/parts-list/ Look around, there are different types. They sell all parts separately so you can create your own e-bike if you wish.

There are other (somewhat) similar ones, like the CeMoto, as well; I don't know how they compare quality-wise (probably similar). One thread with pics

Old post but to let you know - Found these locking straps on amazon.com. Took me 15 minutes to cut it off to shorten it, with a bunch of tools. They have 3 wires inside and the fabric makes it impossible to cut them with any tool, but cutting the fabric to expose the wires is also very hard with the wires inside... Very useful. This is the bike's current form btw. It's an ongoing project :) Added a custom battery I put together 52V 50Ah that mounts in the middle and goes through a balancer. Extended my economic range to 800-1000 km and full electric range to about 400 km.
