Hi, I just finished my new (and 1st) e-bike.
I use it to commute (4x8km/day)

I tried to do something light, who can ride without battery.

Here some photo:

Motor: Bafang 25W
Controller: don't know the brand, 9Mosfet, 350W
BAttery: Lipoli turnigy 20C, 4*5S 3Ah in 2S2P -> 36V 6Ah

The battery box is a Key box, who can close with a key

The bike is a Decathlon riverside 3, steel frame.

U can see the controller, the battery box.

Without battery. I put some cork sheets, shock-proof and fire-proof.
You can also see a strip of 'Velcro?' (don't know the english name). The battery have 2 strip too, so it can't move.
The battery connector is grabbed from old motherboard and ATX power supply.

Battery charger, and mistake-proof connector. Charge is done at 4P (and 2S2P for discharge)
Serial or parallel connections are done in the connectors.

About the lights: I often ride in the dark. car are fast in my travel.

Here the front light
2 white cree Q5 from DX, and some aluminium.
Optic diffuser is also from DX: verry wide range to be seen! http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1918

Rear light and turn signals.
Red cree, some Plexiglas, same diffusers.
Turn signals are usually for scooters.

With flash: relexite strips help to be seen.

Results:

32km with a full charge (5Ah)
25km/h in hills, 30 on flat.
17mn to go to work (15 in car, 25 in regular bike)

To do!
I will buy 6s lipo, perhaps 2x6s or 4x6s, looking for a faster charger too.
I'm currently working on a ebike computer (pic µC, graphical color screen...).
I also have some issue with this controller (http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15522&start=0)

Very nice setup! I love seeing something minimal, built to the need.

How does it ride when the electric juice runs out?

I also made my lights use Cree's but the R2s. I tried the same diffuser, and liked it at first. But after a while I took them out as I felt I needed more light out ahead, and less off to the sides. From other feedback here, it seems the P7 type flood is better suited and provides a bit more light as well.

Anyway well done on a great looking ride.

Just like a regular heavy bike, sometime I forget to charge, I'm doing the same time I used to do without motor.

And I just received the E-crazyman controller, I'll try it tomorow ;)

The new controller totally fixed the issue I had :D
More details in the related topic http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15522&start=0

edit: I also bought from E-crazyman a metal gear for the bafang motor, but didn't manage to remove the freewheel to open the motor :(
I have the good removing tool but it's completely blocked.

Next step: upgrade to 12S lipo ;)

Here's my new baby:

Aluminium frame: Very lighter (11kg) than the old steel one(17kg!) :)

I'm waiting for my new battery (2*6S/ 5Ah)
I will remove the battery box and the carrier, and put battery and controller in the frame.
