Looking to replace the stock 48v controller of my Oset 24r.
Brushed motor rated at 1400W.
Stock controller is rated at 50A continous and 130A peak.

Will this simple and robust controller do the job? Need only the throttle function, but worried about excessive amp draw as this controller have no cutoffs.

Brushed motor controllers are simple, crude PWM devices. Any one of them with compatible continuous and peak power ratings will do the job.

Tried the Yk43B 1500w controller.

Bike is unridable due to excessive power. A small throttle twist launches the bike aggressively, making it not usable.

Will change to a lower wattage controller, or tweak the throttle for lower speeds.

That controller you tried doesnt seem very far off from your
Stock controller. Which throttle did you use with which controller? Maybe the throttle's use different voltage so the ramp was too aggressive?

I used the hall throttle that arrived with it.
However, it's not only the rate of acceleration, but also the top speed and amp draw that became insanely high.

I agree, but I have a feeling that the stock controller is way overrated, and the new 1500w controller is way way under-rated
