Ferrule End and Screw Lug for high current cable - bad idea?

Hi. I'm trying to figure out a solution for a cable end that can pass through a gland and am wondering about using a combination of a ferrule and a screw lug. It's a <1m run of 3/0 wire carrying 600A max. Or would the preferred option be to fatten the cable at the gland with some heat shrink?

On a related note does anyone know of an online calculator for current rating that factors in length?

Split glands / clams are a thing.

Best to keep the run unbroken

and no way I would trust the screw connector

next best, marine spec crimped barrel / butt / splice termination / connectors, like Ancor
